Manchester United eye swap deal for Bundesliga wonderkid

Manchester United are willing to use Anthony Martial as a makeweight to sign Borussia Dortmund sensation Christian Pulisic, reports The Daily Mirror.

Martial has been heavily linked with a move away from United in recent weeks after reportedly turning down a new contract.

The France international’s current deal is due to expire at the end of next season but United have an option to extend his stay by a further 12 months.

United boss Jose Mourinho appears to have ran out of patience with Martial and is willing to sanction his sale.

Martial has already been linked with a move to Chelsea and Mourinho would entertain business with his former club only if it meant Willian moved in the opposite direction.

However, it has now emerged that United will look to use Martial as a makeweight in deal to sign highly-rated Dortmund ace Pulisic.

The United States international, who has previously admitted to being a boyhood United fan, is also a long-term target for Liverpool.

Pulisic is widely regarded as one of the most exciting prospects in Europe and United could face competition for his signature this summer.

The 19-year-old has scored four goals and provided five assists in 31 Bundesliga appearances this season, earning a WhoScored rating of 7.05.

Furthermore, only Kylian Mbappe (78) and Houssem Aouar (75) have completed more dribbles than Pulisic (73) of all teenagers in Europe’s top five leagues this season.
