Everton will raid Sunderland for Stekelenburg successor

Everton are eyeing up a move for Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford as they look to bring in a long-term successor to Maarten Stekelenburg, reports the Sun on Sunday.

Pickford has impressed between the sticks for the Black Cats this season following injury to Vito Mannone, making more saves (31) than any other Premier League goalkeeper.

The 22-year-old was recently rewarded for his good form with a call up to the England squad following injury to Tom Heaton.

His good performances haven’t gone unnoticed among Premier League sides either, with the Toffees keen to find a replacement for 34-year-old Stekelenburg.

Sunderland are reluctant to cash in on their highly rated shotstopper, but would be powerless to retain his services should they succumb to relegation.
