Hull reject Burnley bid for rising midfielder

Hull have rejected Burnley’s offer for Sam Clucas, reports Sky Sports.

The 26-year-old was one of few positives for the Tigers during last season’s Premier League campaign that culminated in relegation back down to the Championship.

Clucas only signed a new three-year deal with Hull 12 months ago but is believed to want a move back to the Premier League.

Burnley are looking to use the money raised from Andre Gray’s £18.5m transfer to Watford to bolster their squad before the transfer window shuts at the end of the month.

Sean Dyche has already strengthened his midfield options this summer with the acquisition of Jack Cork from Swansea and is now targeting £10m-rated Clucas.

Clucas only missed one Premier League game for Hull last season and made at least 36 more tackles than any other team-mate (90).
