Stoke slap £30m price tag on Butland’s head amid Premier League interest

Stoke plan to use Premier League interest in Jack Butland to maximise his valuation and command £30m in the summer, reports The Daily Telegraph.

The Potters are bracing themselves for interest in Butland at the end of the season after missing out on promotion to the Premier League.

Butland has regularly made Gareth Southgate’s England squads despite dropping down to the Championship but is set to return to the top-flight in the summer.

Bournemouth and Crystal Palace are both keen on the 26-year-old but have already been warned to pay a huge fee or miss out on the England goalkeeper.

Stoke believe they are entitled to a fee close to what Sunderland received from Everton for Jordan Pickford in the summer of 2017.

Everton shelled out a club-record deal to sign Pickford from Sunderland despite the fact the Black Cats had just finished bottom of the Premier League.

Of goalkeepers that have made at least 20 appearances in the Championship this season, Butland ranks fourth in the division for the best save success rate (71.2%).
