Besiktas ready Lucas bid

Besiktas are set to move for Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva, according to Eurosport Turkey.

Lucas, 28, has fallen down the pecking order at Anfield this summer following the arrival of James Milner and Liverpool are reportedly willing to listen to offers for the Brazil international.

Besiktas are looking to bolster the middle of their midfield with Tolgay Arslan and Veli Kavlak out injured until the turn of the year and the Black Eagles have already made contact over Lucas, according to Eurosport Turkey.

The Brazilian midfielder has been in and around the Liverpool first-team squad since his arrival in 2007. However, last season saw Lucas make his fewest league appearances (20) in the last six years.

Despite a restricted role, no player that made more than 10 league appearances across Europe’s top 5 leagues required fewer minutes per tackle (every 16.8 mins) than Lucas.
