Manchester United and Manchester City to lock horns for Sevilla defender

Manchester City and Manchester United are both keeping tabs on young Sevilla defender Clement Lenglet, reports The Daily Mail.

Both Manchester clubs want to bolster their defensive options at the end of the season and have earmarked Lenglet as a potential transfer target.

The 22-year-old only joined Sevilla from French side Nancy in January but has made a seamless transition into Spanish football and is regarded a key player for the La Liga side.

His current deal is not due to expire until 2021 but a £28m release clause leaves Sevilla in a vulnerable position as his reputation will only enhance over the course of the season.

The French defender has scored two goals from 12 league appearances for Sevilla this season, while no defender has won the WhoScored Man of the Match award more times in La Liga thus far (2).
