Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has conceded the club will struggle to keep hold of forward Sadio Mane and warned they need to prepare for his exit.
Mane was the WhoScored man of the match (9.35) in Southampton’s 3-1 win over Chelsea on Saturday and had previously been linked with a move to Manchester United over the summer.
The 23-year-old has already directly contributed six goals (two goals + four assists) in eight appearances this season and Koeman concedes Southampton fans should appreciate the forward while they still have him.
“Maybe one day we will lose Mane but then we have to be prepared,” Koeman told the Daily Echo.
“You know in our situation that kind of player, if they play like today, there will come a lot of interest in the end of the season, but now we enjoy watching Mane in our team.”
Only four players have completed more dribbles than Mane so far this season (21).
