Zlatan Ibrahimovic on course for early Manchester United return

Zlatan Ibrahimovic could return to first-team action as early as November after making huge strides in his rehabilitation from a knee injury, claims The Independent.

The 35-year-old suffered a career-threatening cruciate ligament injury back in April and wasn’t expected to make a full return until 2018.

However, Ibrahimovic continues to make massive waves in his rehabilitation and could provide Jose Mourinho’s side with a huge boost before the start of the festive period.

United, who released Ibrahimovic at the end of last season, handed the former Sweden international a new one-year deal at the end of the summer despite having already signed Romelu Lukaku as his replacement.

Despite missing most of 2017 through injury, only Anthony Martial has scored as many Premier League goals as Ibrahimovic (both 17) for United since August 2015.
