Real Madrid will have to match Bayern Munich’s evaluation of Robert Lewandowski if they are to lure the Pole to Spain after it was revealed the striker doesn’t have a release clause in his contract.
Lewandowski, 27, has been heavily linked with a move to Madrid since the start of the season as the La Liga giants look to revamp their frontline.
Bayern side took Lewandowski from their main rivals Borussia Dortmund in 2014 after activating his release clause, however there isn’t one in his current deal with the Bundesliga champions, which still has four years to run.
The Poland international has been in sensational form since the start of the season meaning Madrid would have to pay out a substantial fee in order to secure his services. In fact, only Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (17) has scored more league goals than Lewandowski (14) across Europe’s top five leagues this season.
