Manchester United have announced midfielder Scott McTominay has signed a new five-year deal with an option to a further 12 months.
McTominay has developed into a fan favourite at Old Trafford in the last 12 months and his performances on the pitch have improved tremendously in that time.
The Scotland international's previous United deal wasn't due to expire for another four years but United have rewarded the midfielder's growing responsibility.
"Whilst I understand that we all have so many other things to think about at the moment, I'm so happy to sign this contract and play a part in the future ahead for this team," he told the club's official website.
"All I have ever known is United and I hope that my passion for the club shows every time I go onto the pitch. I'll continue to give everything for this club whenever I pull on the shirt.
"I want to thank the manager for the faith he has shown in me and everyone at the club that has helped me to get where I am today. I'm looking forward to finishing this season on a high and hopefully achieving our aims."
McTominay is one of the most improved players in the Premier League comparing his performances from last season to this, with a WhoScored rating increase of 0.62 in that time.
McTominay has enjoyed more than double the amount of playing time this season compared to last and his goals tally has doubled from two to four as a result.
