Lyon striker hints at summer exit

Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette has revealed this season could be his last with the Ligue 1 giants as he seeks to make the next step in his career.

Lacazette, 25, has been subject to a series of offers from the Premier League in the past and has also been linked with a move to Italy after establishing himself as one of the best strikers in France.

The France international has been in sensational goalscoring form this season but has revealed his seven-year affiliation with Lyon could come to an end in the summer as a big money move looms.

“I think that the right moment has arrived to leave,” Lacazette told Canal+, via Get French Football. “I think that this summer I will need a change of scenery and discover something else, still with the idea of advancing and progressing in terms of football and as a person.

“I will continue to work, in the hope that good opportunities will come this summer. Barcelona to join Umtiti? It is a very big club.

“They have extraterrestrials upfront. It would be a dream… If that happens, great, but I am not here to say that I will take a place from Luis Suarez. But I would like to play for them one day.”

Lacazette’s existing deal isn’t due to expire until 2019 after signing a new four-year deal in 2015 and Lyon will look to fetch in excess of £40m after setting that price tag in the summer when Arsenal came calling.

In this last three Ligue 1 campaigns Lacazette has scored at least seven more goals than any other player (66).
