Chelsea target in Premier League Team of the Week

Everton striker Romelu Lukaku didn’t look like he was distracted by talk of his uncertain future at the weekend. The Belgium international has revealed he wants to leave Everton at the end of the season and has been linked with a return to Chelsea, but speculation hasn’t affected his performances on the pitch.

Lukaku scored a brace and provided one assist in Everton’s 4-0 win over Hull as Ronald Koeman’s side drew level on points with Arsenal to move a step closer to occupying a spot that would grant them entry into the Europa League next season.

The 23-year-old has now scored 21 goals in the Premier League this season – at least two more than any other player in the Premier League – to become the first Everton player to score 20+ goals in a league campaign since Gary Lineker managed the feat in the 1985/86 campaign.

His latest performance also earned him the status as the WhoScored Player of the Round in Gameweek 29 in the Premier League (9.85). Lukaku is also the highest rated Premier League player in 2017 (8.12) and Everton need to resolve his future as soon as possible or risk losing their best player to a rival in the summer.
