Rodriguez makes decision on Bayern Munich future

James Rodriguez has decided he does not want to continue at Bayern Munich next season, claims Sky Germany.

The Colombia international has spent the last two years at Bayern after being deemed surplus to requirements at Real Madrid.

Bayern have an option to make his stay permanent in a deal worth €42m (£37m) but are not expected to take it up.

Rodriguez will instead return to parent club Madrid where his future will be decided by head coach Zinedine Zidane.

The 27-year-old, who has struggled with recurring muscle injuries over the last two years, is unlikely to have a future at Madrid, leaving the door open to another move away this summer.

The fact that Madrid are pursuing Premier League duo Christian Eriksen and Paul Pogba speaks volumes about where Rodriguez’s ranks in their thoughts.

Of players that have started at least 15 Bundesliga games since the beginning of last season, Rodriguez requires the fewest minutes per key pass (one every 24.1 minutes of action).
