Marseille interested in midfielders from Manchester United and Manchester City

Marseille are interested in signing departing Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure this summer, claims The Daily Mail.

Toure will leave City this summer when his contract expires but he wants to stay in the Premier League and play for a top-six club.

The 35-year-old has refused to rule out joining Manchester United, but Marseille are keen to talk with the former Ivory Coast international.

Marseille’s biggest obstacle will be Toure’s wages demands and Rudi Garcia’s side have also sounded out United midfielder Marouane Fellaini.

The Belgium international’s contract is also due to expire this summer but United want to keep the 30-year-old.

AC Milan are the favourites to sign Fellaini on a free transfer, though Marseille still retain some hope of winning the race for the towering midfielder.

Of the Premier League players that made at least 10 appearances this season, Toure attempted the most passes per 90 minutes (164.2).
