Arsenal weighing up move for Barcelona outcast

Arsenal are considering a move for Barcelona backup goalkeeper Neto, reports The Sunday Express.

The Brazilian shotstopper moved to the Blaugrana from Valencia last summer, with Jasper Cillessen moving the other way, but was signed as a deputy for number one Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

Indeed, Neto has made just one league appearance this season, that coming in Barcelona's 2-2 draw with Espanyol in January.

Barcelona, who have been linked with a move for Ajax shotstopper and former Blaugrana shotstopper Andre Onana, would have no qualms with cashing in on the 30-year-old.

And Barcelona would not have a problem with finding a potential suitor, with a host of sides, including Atletico Madrid and AC Milan, along with Arsenal, all monitoring Neto.

The Gunners are looking at bringing in a more high-profile backup for current number one Bernd Leno, who has excelled between the sticks for Arsenal this season, with a WhoScored rating of 6.88 enough to make the Premier League best XI of the campaign so far.
