Leicester City vice-chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha is confident Jamie Vardy will reject a move to Arsenal and extend his stay with the Premier League champions.
Arsenal had matched Vardy’s £20m release clause and offered him a contract before the start of Euro 2016 but the England international requested time to mull over the decision.
The Leicester No.9 did look set to leave the King Power Stadium in favour of a move to Arsenal at one point but that now appears he will stay and play Champions League football with Leicester next season.
“I think so, let’s see. We need to build the team. We keep continuing to believe that we can do something special in the Premier League and the Champions League," Leicester's vice-chairman told The Daily Mail.
“The Champions League is going to be amazing for Leicester, so let’s see. Leicester is the underdog and we can still be the underdog.”
Vardy finished last season with 24 league goals, which was only one behind top goalscorer and England teammate Harry Kane.
