Real Madrid monitoring Euro 2016 highest rated player

Real Madrid are tracking Dimitri Payet’s progress at Euro 2016, according to The Daily Telegraph.

The West Ham star has lit up Euro 2016 in both of France’s matches thus far and his performances have now caught the attention of Madrid president Florentino Perez.

Slaven Bilic’s side are determined to keep hold of the 29-year-old and have already put a £60m price tag on his head to deter any interest this summer.

Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane is reportedly an admirer of the former Marseille creator-in-chief and with both James Rodriguez and Isco on the way out of the European champions there will be room for a new midfielder next season.

Payet is on course to set a French record in a European Championship after creating 14 clear-cut chances in their opening two matches to leave him just one behind Zidane’s record of 15 set in Euro 2004. Unfortunately, Payet is the highest rated player at Euro 2016 after two matches (9.14 rating).
