Inter target Vidal in talks to leave Barcelona on a free

Arturo Vidal is the latest Barcelona player angling for a free transfer move away this summer, claims Gianluca Di Marzio.

Vidal has entered the final year of his current Barcelona contract and new head coach Ronald Koeman is not counting on the combative midfielder next season.

Antonio Conte wants to reunite with Vidal this summer following their time together at Juventus after Inter were priced out of a move for Chelsea's N'Golo Kante.

Barcelona have already sold Ivan Rakitic to Sevilla for next to nothing, while Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi may also leave on free transfers this summer.

While Barcelona are deserpate to prevent Messi from departing for nothing, Vidal is hopeful the Catalan giants will not stand in his way of moving on.

Barcelona signed Vidal from Bayern Munich in a £27m deal in 2018 in a shock transfer and the Chile international has only started 38 of a possible 76 league matches in that time.

Despite making more appearances from the bench (17) than starts (16) in LaLiga last season, Vidal impressively weighed in with eight goals - his best return in a single league campaign in seven years (11 with Juventus in 2013/14 under Conte).

Moreover, Vidal's WhoScored rating shoots up to 7.22 from starts alone in 2019/20 compared to his overall league rating of 6.83.
