Borussia Dortmund have announced they have signed Sebastian Rode from Bayern Munich on a four-year deal.
BVB have become accustomed to losing their players to Bayern in recent years, which continued this summer when they lost Mats Hummels to the Bundesliga champions.
However, Dortmund have at least now taken someone off Bayern’s hands after ending Rode’s frustrating spell at the Allianz Arena and bring the 25-year-old to his boyhood club.
“I am a childhood BVB fan and therefore am really looking forward that it worked with the transfer to my favourite club,” Rode told Dortmund’s official website. I am really looking forward to the new challenge and my first home game in black and yellow in the Signal Iduna Park.
Rode only started three league games for Bayern last season, but only three teammates required fewer minutes per tackle in the Bundesliga (Rode – 44.3 mins).
