Former Chelsea midfielder wants Stamford Bridge return

Jiangsu Suning midfielder Ramires has revealed he wants to return to Chelsea in the future.

The 30-year-old spent six years at Chelsea before making a shock move to China in January 2016.

Ramires penned a four-year contract with Jiangsu Suning after the Chinese Super League side agreed a £25m deal with Chelsea.

The former Brazil international returned to Chelsea in November to receive treatment on a knee injury and he has now revealed he would like to go back on a permanent basis.

“They’re the team I will always have a special affection for and where I still have the desire to play before finishing my career,” he told UOL Esporte, via AS.

“I was recently treating an injury I had at the club and I can say that, without a doubt, it’s like my second home there.

“I know the doors at Stamford Bridge will always be open for me and going back to wear the shirt of that club one day would be amazing.”

Ramires appeared destined to join Inter in January but will instead remain in China until the summer at the very earliest.

The former Chelsea midfielder missed Sunday’s 3-1 win over Guizhou Hengfeng on the opening weekend of the Chinese Super League.

He has played a direct hand in 16 goals in 49 league appearances for Suning since joining from Chelsea over two years ago.
