Hudson-Odoi will force Chelsea exit by running down contract

Callum Hudson-Odoi has no intention of renewing his Chelsea deal and is even prepared to run down his existing contract, claims The Daily Mail.

Bayern have had several bids rejected for Hudson-Odoi this month and are willing to make the teenager the third most expensive player in the club’s history.

Hudson-Odoi has failed to nail down a regular starting berth under Maurizio Sarri this season and is now determined to secure a high profile move to Bayern.

Bayern have made signing youth a priority in the next 12 months and believe Hudson-Odoi is the ideal winger to succeed Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery.

The Bundesliga champions have reportedly even promised Hudson-Odoi the No.10 shirt for next season when Robben’s contract expires in the summer.

Chelsea are desperate to keep Hudson-Odoi but the 18-year-old is even prepared to run down the remaining 18 months of his current deal in order to leave the club.

Sarri’s side risk missing out on a huge return by refusing to sell Hudson-Odoi this month and the teen’s stance may force them to reluctantly accept Bayern’s offer, believed to be in excess of £30m.

Hudson-Odoi has only managed 51 minutes of playing time in the Premier League this season after coming on in the dying embers of Saturday’s 2-1 win over Newcastle.

Of players to have made at least three appearances in the Europa League this season, only one player averages more passes per 90 than Hudson-Odoi (5.8).
