Juventus have made Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri their top choice to replace departing manager Massimiliano Allegri this summer, claims The Sun.
Allegri’s five-year stint as Juventus manager will come to an end when Serie A concludes next weekend.
The Italian still had another season to run on his Juventus deal but the Old Lady have decided to move on following an underwhelming season.
Allegri guided Juventus to the Serie A title in all five of his seasons in charge but failed to win the Champions League.
Juventus were twice losing finalists under Allegri but crashed out at the quarter-final stage this season and also failed to make the Coppa Italia final.
The Serie A champions are now on the market for his successor and want to hand Sarri a way out of his Chelsea hell.
Despite leading Chelsea to two cup finals and a top four finish in his first season in charge, Sarri’s position at Stamford Bridge is severely under threat.
Chelsea are expected to make a decision on his future after the outcome of this month’s Europa League final against Arsenal.
Sarri has failed to implement Sarriball and his relationship with the Chelsea side is not solid, though it would be premature to discard the Italian after one season.
Nevertheless, Chelsea may have a solution to their problem with both Roma and Juventus keen on the 60-year-old.
However, the Blues may find themselves in a position that neither Juventus nor Roma will want to buy Sarri out of his contract when they know he could be attainable for nothing if Chelsea lose the Europa League final.
Sarri has lost 12 of his first 60 matches in charge of Chelsea in all competitions and has a win rate of 62.9%, less than his win ratio during a three year stint in charge of Napoli (66.2%).
