Howard set for MLS return

Everton have announced Tim Howard will return to MLS to join Colorado Rapids on a three-and-a-half year deal at the end of the season.

Howard, 37, has been in poor form this season and the veteran goalkeeper has recently lost his place between the sticks to Joel Robles.

The United States international has been at Everton for a nearly decade since making the switch from Manchester United in 2007 and he admits he will still remain an Evertonian despite the move.

“I will remain an Evertonian for life. This will always be my team; my club,” Howard told the club’s official website.

Since August 2009, Howard has only made 18 errors that have directly led to a goal, which ranks him 11th of all goalkeepers in that time in the Premier League.
