Beckham names dream signing for new MLS franchise

David Beckham has revealed he will try and make Zlatan Ibrahimovic his first signing at his new MLS franchise in Miami.

The former England captain spent the final year of his career playing alongside Ibrahimovic at Paris Saint-Germain and is now set to launch his own MLS franchise in Miami in 2018.

And Beckham has revealed he would attempt to bring the iconic Swede to Miami if the 34-year-old is still playing in three years time.

“If Ibrahimovic is still active, then I want to buy him right away. He is physically magnificent specimen, so it’s entirely possible. Who does not want a man who is prepared to kill to win?,” Beckham told Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet.

“I’ve played with or against the very best in the world,” Beckham said. “I want to say that I have never met anyone who was so serious during both practice and games. When I came to Paris to knew that he was an incomparable talent as a player, but he’d so tough and merciless on himself at all time, I had no idea.

“He is born winner. He is a beast with huge self confidence, and I’m one of his biggest admirers.”

Despite the fact his contract at PSG is due to expire at the end of the season and there is yet no clarity on where he will be next season, Ibrahimovic is currently on course to enjoy his most prolific campaign over the last seven years.

The Sweden international has scored 15 goals in 14 league appearances so far this season and is averaging a goal every 74.8 minutes.
