Besiktas vs Bayern Munich confirmed XIs: Besiktas field second-string team

Besiktas manager Senol Gunes has risked complete humiliation at the hands of Bayern Munich after fielding a reserve team in the second leg of their last 16 Champions League tie.

The Turkish giants were thrashed 5-0 by Bayern in the first leg and Gunes has moved to rest his best players ahead of a pivotal weekend of action in the Super Lig title race.

Besiktas travel to second place Istanbul Basaksehir on Sunday and Gunes has made his intentions clear in the second leg of their Champions League clash with Bayern.

Anderson Talisca, Adrian, Atiba Hutchinson, Ryan Babel, Fabri and Alvaro Negredo have only made the bench for the home side, while Bayern have named a near full strength XI.

Jupp Heynckes has incredibly selected Robert Lewandowski to start against Besiktas despite the fact he will miss the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals if he is booked on Tuesday night.

Besiktas have not lost at home all season but that record is seriously under threat on Tuesday. Ricardo Quaresma has been included in their starting XI, but that is only because the Portugal international is suspended domestically.
