Real Madrid up bid to sign Chelsea star Hazard

Real Madrid are prepared to increase their offer for Eden Hazard and will step up their pursuit after Chelsea’s Europa League final on Wednesday, claims the London Evening Standard.

The Spanish side have already had two bids rejected for Hazard, who has just over one year left to run on his existing Chelsea deal, with the Premier League giants holding out for more than £100m.

Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane has made Hazard a top transfer target this summer and wants the club to get a deal over the line as quickly as possible, forcing Los Blancos to shell out more than they originally wanted to.

Hazard’s focus is Wednesday’s Europa League final but Madrid will then accelerate their pursuit of the Belgium international, as they seek to claw back the gap between themselves and Barcelona in La Liga.

The 28-year-old finished the 2018/19 Premier League campaign as the highest WhoScored rated player in the division (7.81) after playing a direct hand in the most goals (31).

Furthermore, Hazard completed the most dribbles (137) and ranked second for key passes (98).
