Jose Mourinho says there is ‘no chance’ David de Gea will leave Manchester United this summer.
De Gea has been heavily linked with a move away from United in the last few years after developing into one of the best goalkeepers in the world.
The Spain international’s current United deal is due to expire in 2019 but Mourinho’s side have an option to extend his stay by a further 12 months.
United are reportedly in the process of trying to secure De Gea’s long-term future and Mourinho insists the 27-year-old will not leave this summer.
“No chance,” the Manchester Evening News quote Mourinho as saying when asked about the possibility of De Gea leaving in Friday’s press conference.
Real Madrid are understood to be on the market for a new goalkeeper this summer and their need to replace Keylor Navas was emphasised on Wednesday.
Navas committed a huge error for Bayern Munich’s opener in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final first leg at the Allianz Arena.
De Gea has kept 21 clean sheets in all competitions this season, his best ever return in a single-campaign.
