Navas happy United deal fell through

Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas has revealed he never wanted to move to Manchester United over the summer, reports the Daily Express.

The Costa Rica international was included in the deal that would have seen David de Gea return to the Spanish capital.

However, the deal failed to be completed before the transfer window shut in Spain and Navas admits he wasn’t comfortable with the idea of trading Madrid for United.

“I never thought of leaving Real Madrid,” Navas is quoted as saying by the Daily Express. “I always wanted to stay here. I am happy here and hope to stay for many years.

“The transfer to United was complicated, it is not a comfortable situation.

“But it’s now over to more and I am just trying to be focused on the present. That’s the only thing it matters. I am aware the fans always backed me in any situation.”
