Premier League midfielder confirms interest from Arsenal and Liverpool

Abdoulaye Doucoure has revealed Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham are interested in signing him in the summer but insists he is only focused on helping Watford this season.

The 25-year-old has been one of the star performers in the Premier League outside of the top-six sides and Watford expect to face a fight to hold on to his signature at the end of the current campaign.

Doucoure struggled to make any impression during his first season at Watford last term but established himself as a key player for the Hornets under Marco Silva and now Javi Gracia.

The Mali international was briefly linked with a move away from Watford in January and now the powerful midfielder has revealed interest from three of the biggest teams in the Premier League.

“It’s true that these clubs are interested,” he told French TV programme Telefoot when quizzed on the sides. “But I’m at Watford for the moment and I want to finish my season well.”

Doucoure’s current £60,000-a-week deal isn’t due to expire until 2020 but Gracia’s side will look to convince the midfielder to pen a bumper new contract at the end of the season.

No central midfielder has scored more Premier League goals than Doucoure this season (7).
