Bournemouth weigh up audacious move for Chelsea veteran

Bournemouth are weighing up a loan move for Chelsea captain John Terry, reports The Daily Telegraph.

Terry, 35, has entered the last six months of his existing deal with Chelsea but it remains to be seen whether the Blues are willing to hand their captain another new deal after reluctantly keeping him on for this season.

The former England captain has lost his place in the Chelsea defence since Antonio Conte reverted the team to a 3-4-3 formation and now appears on Bournemouth’s radar as they seek a replacement for Nathan Ake.

Chelsea announced their decision to recall Ake from a loan spell at Bournemouth over the weekend following his sublime form in recent months and Eddie Howe’s side are looking at the prospect of doing further business with the current Premier League leaders.

Terry, who is suspended for one-match after his red card in the FA Cup third round at the weekend, has spent his entire career at Chelsea aside from a loan spell to Nottingham Forest when he was 19.

It remains to be seen whether the veteran defender would be keen to switch the prospect of winning a fifth Premier League winners’ medal to help Howe’s side beat the drop.

Terry has been sent off in two of his last six starts for Chelsea, while also making up three of last six red cards his side have been shown.
