Everton ready to sell Wayne Rooney

Everton are ready to listen to offers for Wayne Rooney just 12 months after re-signing the former England captain, claims The Daily Mirror.

Rooney started his career at Everton before completing a mega-money move to Manchester United in 2004.

The 32-year-old returned to Goodison Park last summer but Everton’s decision has backfired and now they are ready to part ways with their No.10.

Despite being Everton’s top scorer in the Premier League this season, things haven’t gone to plan for Rooney.

Rooney reacted furiously to being substituted during the Merseyside derby earlier this month and manager Sam Allardyce reportedly reprimanded the veteran in private.

England’s all-time record goal scorer has been heavily linked with a move to China in the past, while the MLS may also be of interest to Rooney.

After reaching 10 Premier League goals for the season in a 3-1 win over Swansea just before Christmas, Rooney has failed to score in his subsequent 16 appearances in all competitions.
