Los Angeles FC make bold move for Wesley Sneijder

Los Angeles FC have made an offer to sign Galatasaray midfielder Wesley Sneijder for their debut MLS season in 2018, reports ESPN.

Sneijder, 33, has spent the last four years at Turkish giants Galatasaray but has entered the final 12 months of his existing deal and is unlikely to be offered an extension.

LAFC are determined to land some big name players ahead of their first season in MLS next year and believe the arrival of Sneijder, who has played for Inter and Real Madrid, would be a real statement of intent.

The MLS expansion team have offered the Netherlands international a contract worth $3.5 million-a-year in order, which would make him among the top 10 earners in MLS.

LAFC would allow Sneijder to remain with Galatasaray for the rest of the year before making the move stateside at the start of 2018.

In the last three Turkish Super Lig campaigns, Sneijder has provided at least four more assists than any other player (24).
