Crystal Palace bid for Championship ace rejected

Queens Park Rangers have rejected Crystal Palace's opening bid for Eberechi Eze, claims The Guardian.

The Championship outfit are resigned to losing the highly rated 22-year-old after missing out on promotion to the Premier League.

QPR had hoped to command in the region of £20m for the winger but Palace's opening bid has come in at much lower than that.

The Hoops have now revised their expectations of the summer transfer market and hope to fetch at least £16m for Eze.

Palace are expected to return with an improved offer for a player that could pave the way for Wilfried Zaha to finally secure a move away from Selhurst Park.

Newly promoted West Brom are also in the running for England Under-21 international and have already held initial discussions with QPR.

Eze finished the 2019/20 campaign as the third highest WhoScored rated player in the Championshop (7.36) and the best outside the top-six.

The QPR No.10 played a direct hand in 22 league goals (14 goals, eight assists), claimed the joint most WhoScored Man of the Match awards (10) and ranked top for dribbles completed (136).
