Chelsea are hopeful of securing a monster deal to bring Romelu Lukaku back to Stamford Bridge but Antonio Conte’s side have also sounded out Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye, reports Bleacher Report.
The Premier League champions will be expected to pay in excess of £80m for Lukaku this summer, which would shatter their club-transfer record that has stood since January 2011 when they paid Liverpool £50m for Fernando Torres.
Chelsea after thought to have beaten Manchester United to Lukaku’s services and the 24-year-old revealed on international duty with Belgium earlier this week that he knew which club he would be playing for next season.
However, what Lukaku may not have expected was that he could have been joined in moving from Goodison Park to Stamford Bridge by current Everton teammate Gueye.
Conte is keen to bolster his midfield options ahead of the new season when they will return to the Champions League and had been attracted to the mouthwatering prospect of partnering Gueye with current midfield enforcer N’Golo Kante.
However, Everton have made it clear they will not entertain any offers for Gueye, who only joined the Toffees from Aston Villa last summer. The 27-year-old enjoyed a thoroughly impressive debut campaign for Ronald Koeman’s side and even out performed Kante in terms of tackles and interceptions last season.
Indeed, last season Gueye completed the most tackles and interceptions combined in the Premier League (217).

@edemex - This is a squad game. They don't have to play them all simultaneously!
