Spurs target set to remain in France

Spurs have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Sofiane Boufal after the Lille forward revealed he is will not leave the club in January.

Boufal, 22, has been dubbed the ‘new Eden Hazard’ following his exploits so far this season and his form has seen him regularly linked with a move to White Hart Lane.

It had been suggested that Spurs would make their move for the Lille No.7 as early as January, but that looks off the table for now after Boufal admitted he is ’99.99%’ sure he will remain at the club beyond the winter window.

“You know, I still have a lot of things to learn and for the moment let me grow little by little,” Boufal told La Voix du Nord. “Before thinking about a transfer, I am thinking more about the team. Even though we have pulled away from the relegation zone, we are still in a difficult situation.

“I am thinking more about helping the team than about leaving. Will I be here at the end of the season? 99.99% yes.

“My agents are dealing with all that and I ask them to let me concentrate on football. They know that I want to have a full season here.”
