Borussia Dortmund set to announce €20m signing following Bosz appointment

Having today appointed Peter Bosz as Thomas Tuchel’s replacement, Borussia Dortmund will confirm a deal for Freiburg forward Maximilian Philipp, Bild reports.

The 23-year-old has been lined up as a replacement for Marco Reus, who has suffered yet another long-term injury, with Mario Gotze also sidelined for the foreseeable future.

BVB are expected to play €20m for Philipp, who will follow last season’s star man Vincenzo Grifo out of the exit door, with the Italian having signed for Gladbach last month.

Philipp’s versatility - able to play on either flank or as a centre-forward - will have been a key draw to die Schwarzgelben, following an impressive season as Freiburg secured a superb seventh-placed finish following promotion.
