Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has revealed he plans to sit down for talks with Willian after the Manchester United target failed to report for training on time.
Willian has been heavily linked with a move away from Chelsea this summer after struggling for regular playing time in the last few years.
Barcelona and United have expressed an interest in the Brazil international but new Chelsea boss Sarri is keen to retain his services for the upcoming season.
Willian was due to return to Chelsea training at the end of last week before blaming passport problems for his no show and Sarri has conceded the situation is ‘strange’.
“I want to speak to him before I answer these questions,” Sky Sports quote Sarri as saying when asked why Willian did not turn up to training.
“I don’t know. I am not happy about the situation but I would like to talk to him. Is it strange? I think so.”
Chelsea are due to play Manchester City in the Community Shield on Sunday and Willian will almost certainly be unavailable for the clash.
The 29-year-old scored six goals and provided seven assists in 36 Premier League appearances last season, but only 20 of those were starts.
