The 26-year-old has long been linked with a transfer to the Premier League and he could finally get that move if Sunderland can beat the drop this season.
Sunderland are rock bottom of the Premier League and currently six points adrift of safety with 11 games remaining but had scouts in attendance for Besiktas’ 1-1 draw with Olympiacos in the Europa League on Thursday.
Arslan, who was born in Germany, was booked after 15 minutes before being taken off at half time. He has only started 12 league games for the Turkish giants this season, while only two teammates have a better pass success rate than Arslan (90.3%).
