Atletico Madrid defender Theo Hernandez would prefer to remain in La Liga than move to the Premier League amid talk of a summer switch to Barcelona and Real Madrid, reports Yahoo Sport.
Hernandez, 19, has spent the season on loan at Alaves and is now one of the most sought after teenagers on the continent with Manchester City among the sides chasing his signature.
Atletico face a real fight on their hands to keep the underage France international and are desperate to avoid selling the left-back to city rivals Madrid, which would put Barcelona in the driving seat.
City manager Pep Guardiola may also have to look for alternative targets to help reshape his defensive line with Hernandez, the brother of Atletico defender Lucas, keen to remain in Spain.
Of defenders in La Liga this season only Filipe Luis (73), the man in his position at Atletico, has completed more dribbles than Hernandez (62).
