Paris Saint-Germain are interested in signing Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang but would prefer to sign Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez, reports ESPN.
The Ligue 1 giants are keen to make a big splash in the summer transfer window following what has been a thoroughly disappointing first season in charge from Unai Emery.
PSG crashed out of the Champions League round of 16 to Barcelona despite winning the first leg 4-0 and are facing the prospect of not winning Ligue 1 for the first time since the 2011/12 campaign.
Emery’s side are determined to make a serious play in the summer to bolster their squad and have identified Aubameyang and Sanchez as their ideal signings, although the latter is at the top of their summer wish list.
PSG direct of football Patrick Kluivert has already made contact with Aubameyang’s father about a potential deal but Dortmund have already revealed only an approach from Real Madrid or Barcelona would be considered by the club and the Gabon international.
The Dortmund striker also has a long contract and would be significantly more expensive than Sanchez, who, by contrast, will only have 12 months left to run on his current deal at the end of the season.
Sanchez has already rejected a new deal and fresh talks have been shelved until the end of the season as a summer move away looks likely. The 28-year-old has been in immense form for the Gunners this season, playing a direct hand in 28 goals in 33 league appearances.
