Chelsea target signs new deal

Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis has announced Kalidou Koulibaly has signed a new five-year deal keeping him at the club until 2021.

Chelsea were heavily linked with a move for the Napoli centre-back during the summer but failed to prize him away from the club.

Koulibaly has now committed the next five years to the Serie A side and has reportedly even agreed to a £60m release clause, as Napoli look to ward off interest from their European rivals in the future.

In the last two Premier League campaigns only Francesco Acerbi (209) has won possession in the defensive third more times than Koulibaly (173).
