Tottenham could move for Bournemouth right-back Adam Smith as a possible replacement for Kyle Walker, reports the Daily Mirror.
Walker has been heavily linked with a move away from the club at the end of the season, with Manchester City thought to be readying a big money bid for the England right-back.
Kieran Trippier would be expected to succeed Walker as first choice right-back under Mauricio Pochettino, but the Spurs boss doesn’t want to be caught short at the back should the English defender leave for the Etihad Stadium.
Pochettino is believed to be a keen admirer of Smith, who started his career at Tottenham before leaving for Bournemouth permanently in 2014.
The Cherries would be loath to losing the right-back in the summer, with the 26-year-old establishing himself as first choice under Eddie Howe.
Smith has registered five assists for Bournemouth this season - no defender has more in the Premier League - with his attacking output an attractive proposition for Pochettino, particularly if he looks to implement a three-man defence.
