Wolves have announced the arrival of Real Madrid centre-back Jesus Vallejo on a season-long loan deal.
Vallejo is remarkably Wolves’ first signing of the summer and will provide competition for places at the back alongside Conor Coady, Wily Boly and Ryan Bennett.
Despite captaining Spain to U21 European Championship glory this summer, Vallejo does not feature in Zinedine Zidane’s immediate first-team plans at Madrid next season.
Porto defender Eder Militao has arrived at Madrid this summer to further limit Vallejo’s prospects of first-team action at the club.
In fact, Vallejo got more minutes under his belt at this summer’s U21 European Championships (360) than he did for Madrid in LaLiga last season (311).
