Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed they have reached an agreement to play their home Champions League games at Wembley next season.
A move to the national stadium had been mooted, with rumours gathering pace in recent weeks that a temporary switch was on the cards while Spurs carried out the necessary construction of their new stadium in time for the 2018/19 season.
"We've reached an agreement with Wembley stadium to play our Champions League fixtures there for the 2016/17 season," the club announced via their official Twitter account.
"This is to meet UEFA requirements, which will be impacted by the current stadium works affecting access, capacity and rights delivery.
"As we shall be required to vacate WHL (sic) to complete the latter stages of our new stadium and surrounding environs, the agreement additionally provides and option to play all Premier League & cup home games at Wembley stadium for the 2017/18 season."
Tottenham return to the Champions League next term having finished third in the Premier League this season.
