The agent of Emil Forsberg has blasted RB Leipzig for banning the sale of their star players this summer as he seeks a move to a bigger club.
Forsberg and Naby Keita have been heavily linked with a move away from the Bundesliga side this summer but Leipzig have categorically ruled out their sales as they gear up for Champions League football next season.
However, that stance has not gone down well with Forsberg’s agent, who insists the Sweden international is desperate to make the next step in his career after a breathtaking campaign last season.
“I have never experienced an arrogant attitude like this,” Hasan Cetinkaya told BILD when asked about Leipzig reminding Forsberg he still has a long-term contract. “I know how long Emil is under contract at Leipzig. And I also know what he owes to the club. But it’s a fact: Emil wants to make the next step in his career.
“Me and Emil have always accepted the club and the contracts with them. When Emil went there, the ambition was to take the team to the Bundesliga and then the Champions League. He has been involved with them all the way and broke records in their shirt.
“Both me and Emil have spoken to the club about his ambition, his future and his dreams. They didn’t buy him for €15m, but for €3m and he signed a new contract and paid them back 10 times. They will have to live with the fact that they are destroying his dreams.”
Forsberg only signed a new long-term contract in February that appeared to have secured his future for at least next season but the 25-year-old, who has been linked to Arsenal in the past, is keen to go bigger than Leipzig’s ceiling.
No player registered as many assists in Europe’s top five leagues last season than Forsberg (19), who also finished the WhoScored Team of the Season across Europe’s top leagues.

Maybe he shouldn't have made dumb decisions and signed a long-term contract this year then?
