Tottenham flop hints at early exit from White Hart Lane
Vincent Janssen has told Dutch press that he is not ruling out a move away from Tottenham after just one season in London, the Evening Standard reports.
The 22-year-old endured a difficult debut campaign in the Premier League, scoring just twice in 27 appearances, although just seven were starts.
The striker confirmed that he is hoping for more regular playing time next season, but told De Telegraaf, “otherwise I’m now better keeping my mouth shut.”
When a potential return to the Eredivisie was put to him, the Netherlands international stated: “I keep all options open.”
When considering that Harry Kane retained his Golden Boot award last season, scoring 29 goals, it’s difficult to imagine that Janssen will receive the game time that he seeks at White Hart Lane, so an early exit certainly seems like a distinct possibility.
Janssen was Spurs’ lowest rated player to start at least 5 league matches last season, with a rating of just 6.34.
