Arsenal and Tottenham target attracting interest from United
Manchester United are hoping to move ahead of Arsenal and Tottenham in the race to sign Henrikh Mkhitaryan, reports the Daily Mail.
The Armenia international is widely expected to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer having turned down two contract offers from the Bundesliga side.
Mkhitaryan has a little over a year to run on his current deal with the Dortmund, who could look to cash in on the attacker this summer rather than lose him on a free in 12 months' time.
Arsenal have long been credited with an interest in the 27-year-old, while Spurs are rumoured to be in the running to secure his services, but United are hoping to pip the pair to sign Mkhitaryan.
After a disappointing season in Jurgen Klopp's final campaign for Dortmund, he enjoyed a hugely impressive spell under Thomas Tuchel, with his WhoScored rating (7.90) ranking among the top-10 players in Europe's top five leagues last season.
Jose Mourinho is keen to bolster United's attacking options this summer and has earmarked the creative Armenian as a potential arrival.
Indeed, Mkhitaryan played 83 key passes in the Bundesliga last season, the third most in Germany's top tier.
