Bayern Munich line up shock January bid for Chelsea starlet

Bayern Munich want to prise Callum Hudson-Odoi away from Chelsea next month in a deal worth just £13m, claims The Daily Mail.

Hudson-Odoi will only have 18 months left to run on his current deal in January and is now being eyed by German sides after failing to break into Maurizio Sarri’s first-team plans.

The 18-year-old was a huge success story during Chelsea’s pre-season tour and tipped for a breakthrough campaign but things have not gone to plan.

Bayern are planning for life without Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery and have made signing long-term replacements a top priority.

The defending Bundesliga champions are planning a major squad overhaul over the upcoming transfer windows following their disastrous campaign.

Chelsea will be reluctant to lose someone of Hudson-Odoi’s talent and will reportedly look to include a buy-back clause if they cannot fend off interest from Bayern.

Niko Kovac’s side are not the only side tracking the teenager, with Borussia Dortmund also interested in the Chelsea youngster.

Dortmund prised Jadon Sancho away from Borussia Dortmund in 2017 and the 18-year-old has developed into one of the Bundesliga’s best players.

While Sancho has played a direct hand in 13 goals in 17 league appearances this season, Hudson-Odoi has only managed one substitute appearance in the Premier League this term.
