Tottenham are interested in Feyenoord midfielder Tonny Vilhena but could face competition from Serie A side Roma, claims Calciomercato.
Mauricio Pochettino wants to bolster his midfield ranks over the next two transfer windows with Mousa Dembele set to depart.
The Belgium international’s current deal is due to expire in the summer but he could leave before that with clubs from the Chinese Super League keen on a deal early next year.
Pochettino may also have to find a midfielder more reliable than Victor Wanyama, who has endured a heavily injury-hit 2018.
Vilhena has been earmarked as a potential transfer target for Tottenham, though Roma are also keen on the 23-year-old.
The Feyenoord midfielder has scored three goals in 15 league appearances this season and also provided one assist for the Dutch giants.
Despite being a central midfielder, only Steven Berghuis (48) has attempted more shots in the league than Vilhena (40) of all Feyenoord players this season.
