Juventus want to sign Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak when Gianluigi Buffon retires from football, reports AS.
Buffon has been tipped to retire after the 2018 World Cup next summer and Juventus will then be tasked with finding a replacement for the 40-year-old.
The Old Lady signed Wojciech Szczesny from Arsenal in the summer but still want to sign a world-class goalkeeper when Buffon eventually hangs up his gloves.
Gianluigi Donnarumma was reportedly a target before he committed his long-term future to AC Milan over the summer and now Max Allegri’s side are eyeing a move for Oblak.
The Slovenia international, who has a €100m (£88.7m) release clause, was heavily linked with a move away from Atletico over the summer but stayed after Diego Simeone’s side were hit with a transfer ban.
Oblak has established himself as one of the finest goalkeepers in the world but it remains to be seen whether Juventus would be willing to match his release clause.
In the last three La Liga campaigns, Oblak has kept at least 16 more clean sheets than any other goalkeeper (41).
